Our purpose is to help you discover this wonderful region and its people through an off the beaten track approach that is far from the pre-formatted one you get from most tour operators. You choose the program of your stay from a list of excursions and day trips. I'll be your driver and your personal guide. I will be happy to share my knowledge of the region and its local customs..

You will be my only guests during your stay so I can devote myself exclusively to the program that we have defined together.

Here are some examples of what you can experience while staying with us. We will work with you to create the experience you want. Everything is proposed, nothing imposed :

A ride down the Mae Kok river, our river in Tha Ton ( a branch of the Maekong ), in a “long boat”, to an elephant camp.
A visit to Doi Tung, a magnificient tropical garden in the mountains covered with bamboo forests, ancient residence of the queen.
A trip through the Mae Salong green tea plantations which have replaced the former opium plantations.
The Mekong river and the Golden triangle.
Mae Saï, the northern most city in Thailand and passage point for Myanmar. You will visit the immense market filled with Chinese products (very popular with the Thais). 0n the way back, a stop at the temple where dozens of facetious monkeys live.
Chiang Rai and its « night bazaar », This is a far more typical Thai market than the one in Chiang Mai. We will also take you to the White Temple and waterfalls along the way.
A sporty trek or calm walk – it’s yours to decide, with Renato of the Karen people, in his bamboo forest. Renato is a very agreeable and passionate person who knows the forest and the way to live with it. This is a great opportunity to approach the people without the “tour guide” aspect.

If you stay more than a week, we can plan a trip to Chiang Mai for 3 days:

Depart in the morning for Chiang Maï with a passage through the Chiang Dao National Park. We will take several stops on the way and stay in the charming and confortable "Sri Pat hotel" in Chiang Maï.
In the afternoon, we can see the huge tropical plant and orchid market or the famous and highly venerated temple of Doï Suthep.
In the evening, we will dine in a well known restaurant on the river bank owned by the famous singer Suntaree.
The next day, we will take an excursion to the highly animated daily market Warorot. Next to the market is a Chinese temple…A must to be seen….Very surprising.
And of course many other things.....

Your stay includes :

Picking you up on your arrival in the Chiang Rai airport and transfer (about 1 hour) to Old Tree's House.
The stay in a charming bungalow.
